Los Cenzontles to Perform on West Coast Live December 13th

Sedge Thomsan has distinguished West Coast Live from any other show on public radio by interviewing the most original, outrageous, and thought-provoking artists based on the West Coast. West Coast Live's musical focus is on American and Western roots music; music derived from styles invented or developed here, and kept alive by local traditions rather than music videos. Some of the better-known acts to appear on the show are Ben Harper, Lyle Lovett, Taj Mahal, and The Neville Brothers.

You can hear Los Cenzontles on West Coast Live, December 13th. Check the following link to find your local station and listen to Los Cenzontles live 10am-noon, http://www.wcl.org/affiliates.html

For today's Global Hit, The World's Marco Werman introduces Eugene Rodriguez and his band, Los Cenzontles. CD Release Party at Yoshi’s in Oakland, a HUGE Success

On stage with legendary David Hidalgo and special guests Pete Sears, Carlos Moreno, Dave Bautista and our Los Cenzontles Banda, it was a true San Francisco Bay Area jam session! We want to take this time to thank Diane Sanchez and Sherwood Chen for their leadership with the Fund for Artists of the East Bay Community Foundation. Their support made the creation of “Songs of Wood & Steel” possible, and we are so grateful.
New Album “Songs of Wood and Steel” is Out Now!

Los Cenzontles’ newest album, “Songs of Wood and Steel” is available NOW!

“Songs of Wood and Steel” mines and fuses Mexico’s musical treasures with rock and blues. Songs mix banda Sinaloense with jam rock; mariachi ranchera with blues; and son Jarocho with modern rock. Using folk instruments such as the jarana, requinto, vihuela, guitarron alongside electric keyboards, guitars and drums Los Cenzontles and David Hidalgo dig deeply into roots music to create never before heard cultural fusions.

A wonderful new collaboration with … traditionally minded Mexican-American folk music spiked with Lobos' adventurous brand of modern rock. -- Mikael Wood, LA Weekly
